Betsy Ross' House

Betsy Ross lived in this house at 239 Arch Street in Philadelphia, Pa. from 1773 to 1786 and is one of the most visited sites in historic Philadelphia.

The house is constructed of red brick laid in the "Flemish Bond with glazed heads" pattern which is captured in this counted cross stitch pattern.

Betsy Ross is considered an important figure in American Folklore for stitching the first American flag for the Continental Congress--notice the flag has the thirteen stars and stripes pattern.

The chart includes a full color picture, the history of Betsy and her house, while the kit also includes Charles Craft 14 count ivory Aida cloth, DMC floss, a needle and complete stitching instructions.
